Hello DAA sports families,
We hope everyone continues to be safe and healthy as we navigate through these unique times.
Our previous communication highlighted that all DAA Spring sports activities were postponed until April 30th. The DAA Board of Directors has reviewed the Spring sports schedule and made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Spring seasons for all sports including Connie Mack Baseball and Spring travel baseball and Spring travel softball and Spring Co-Ed volleyball.
A decision on summer seasons for both travel softball and travel baseball will be made at a later time. No activities may continue for travel teams until the DAA Board of Directors approves and communicates next steps.
All registrations for 2020 spring in-house jr. baseball, spring in-house softball, spring co-ed vball, and Summer Connie Mack will be refunded in full.
Registration fees will be returned to the credit card/account that was used to initially register. We are working with the registration vendor to execute this process and we have been informed it may take 4 weeks to get through all the refunds for all the sports. Please bear with us as we work through the process.
On a more positive note, most of the Spring sports are organizing summer activities to supplement the cancelled seasons which will be communicated on a sport by sport basis once we have a greater understanding of the re-start process for our community.
We know this time is difficult for our athletes, and we hope our volunteers, players, coaches, officials, families and our entire Doylestown community remains safe and healthy. We look forward to getting back in action!!!
Hello DAA sports families,
We hope everyone is managing safely through this very challenging time. As we previously communicated, all DAA sports activities are suspended through April 30, 2020. This includes all sports and all teams, including travel teams, and applies to all indoor and outdoor activities, practices, games and tournaments.
We remain hopeful that at least a part of the Spring season can be played and our planning is in place to support a partial season. However, given the dynamics of this situation, the DAA Board will evaluate conditions in late April, at which point a final decision on the upcoming Spring season will be made. Until that time, we will hold all registrations and sponsorships. Should we decide not to hold the season, all registrations will be refunded in full and we will communicate that in late April as well.
We know this time is difficult for our athletes, and we hope our volunteers, players, coaches, officials, families and our entire Doylestown community remains safe and healthy.
Hello DAA sports families,
We are all managing our way through the daily changes and impacts associated with COVID -19 and we want to ensure the health and safety of our DAA families. Based on the current directives from the State and Federal Government, CBSD, Doylestown Borough/Township, the DAA Board of Directors has taken the position to suspend all DAA sports activities through April 30, 2020. This includes all sports and all teams, including travel teams, and applies to all indoor and outdoor activities, practices, games, and tournaments.
While we have chosen to suspend all sports until April 30th, we will continue to be ready for our next steps and will revisit our decision as things progress. Sports that were in season and sports in the registration process for the Spring are most impacted. For families in these sports, we ask your patience as we work through the next several weeks. Please be assured, based on how things progress, we will make the best decisions for our athletes and our DAA families.
We know this is difficult for our athletes, but it is in the best interest of our volunteers, players, coaches, officials, families and our entire Doylestown community.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and revisit our decision as appropriate. Should anything change we will communicate as quickly as possible.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Doylestown Athletic Association (DAA) has been organizing youth sports programs in our community since 1968 with the help of its volunteer board members, sports directors, coaches, umpires, officials and sponsors.
Our total enrollment in DAA’s sports programs is more than 3,000 boys and girls, with growth of nearly 10% per year. Approximately 54% of DAA’s membership comes from Doylestown Borough and Township. The rest of the players and volunteers come from communities throughout Bucks and Montgomery County.
The programs we offer are:
For information on DAA's recreational programs, click on the name of the sport listed above. While most of the programs are played at a recreational level, DAA also offers travel teams in baseball, basketball and softball. For information on DAA’s travel programs, click on the desired sport and look for the “Travel” menu item on the respective sport’s page.
All sports are open to youth ages 7 through 18 (and younger in some sports); although each sport’s leagues have specified age groups and/or school grade levels.
DAA provides an equal opportunity for youth to enjoy sports participation in an environment that encourages and develops good sportsmanship conduct, promoting good citizenship and a sense of teamwork and pride in oneself.
Players enrolled in the recreational programs will play a fair minimum period of time in each game, regardless of talent or experience.
Financial assistance is provided when necessary to any player with a desire to participate. Please see the individual sport’s director for a confidential discussion.
All coaches, assistant coaches and board members must pass a confidential background check administered by an independent investigative agency.
