To utilize the game of basketball as a tool when competing at a high level with in a team structure resulting in life lessons learned both on and off the court that will become valuable through adulthood.

DAA is pleased to announce that Claire Perry will take on the role of head coach of a Doylestown 7th grade girls AAU team this spring. Claire grew up in Doylestown and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 2003 and Cornell University in 2007. She holds the free throw shooting record for the Ivy league along with the 3 point shooting record for a season at Cornell. She recently finished a Fellowship at the organization PeacePlayers International, a program that uses basketball as the medium to bridge divides, change perceptions, and develop leaders for at risk youth throughout the country. After living in South Africa for the past two years, Claire is back in the area, working individually with local, young players to develop his or her game.

Open tryouts will be held during the dates listed above. The team will practice 2x per week starting in March and running until the first week of June. We plan to enter 5 or 6 local (1 hour or less driving distance) tournaments between late-March and early-June.

Cost to participate will be approximately $400-$450.
